To find the cemetery, go 1.5 miles south on Hwy. 139, from Hwy. 25, in Bibb Co., AL. Turn right 0.1 miles past Mahan Creek, and go 1.0 miles to the cemetery. The grave of Sarah M. Ballard is approximately 135 feet west of the large spreading tree in the central portion of the cemetery, and 15-20 feet into the underbrush.

The picture of Susan W. Dowdey was made in February, 1998, when she and her husband Ben Dowdey visited the cemetery. Susan is the 3rd great-granddaughter of Sarah M. (Hawkins) Ballard.

The sign reads in part "Est. 1850," but some sources report it was established about 1865. It has also been called Evergreen Cemetery.
